We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on one of our exceptional team members at The Solutions Team—Mike Caitlin, our dedicated Project Manager. Since joining our team on January 2, 2023, Mike has consistently showcased his skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to excellence. His valuable contributions have played a pivotal role in the successful completion of numerous projects.
When asked about how he discovered The Solutions Team, Mike shared an intriguing story. Todd Gooden reached out to him via LinkedIn with an offer for a Project Manager position. Although Mike had recently changed jobs and wasn't actively searching, the idea of being given an opportunity outside IT support piqued his interest. He decided to take the leap of faith and join our team.
As a Project Manager, Mike's primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth completion of all projects generated by our sales team. He maintains consistent communication with clients, documents standard operating procedures, organizes and cleans up documentation, handles ConnectWise Manage administration, oversees inventory control, and conducts internal meetings. Mike's versatility and meticulous approach have been invaluable to our organization.
What convinced Mike that The Solutions Team was an exceptional place to work? He credits the welcoming environment and the incredible team he is a part of. Mike expressed his appreciation for Landry, an excellent leader and motivator, who has mentored him and allowed him to learn and grow within different aspects of the company. Feeling valued as a team member has truly made a difference in Mike's experience.
A typical day for Mike is never mundane. His tasks vary depending on the needs of the projects. He begins by checking email and ConnectWise for any project status changes and follows up accordingly. From there, his day takes various paths. He may document and label inventory, update IT Glue's documentation to better organize data, conduct kickoff calls with new projects or clients, provide documentation to project stakeholders, or ensure client satisfaction. The ever-changing nature of his work keeps each day interesting and exciting.
One aspect Mike loves about working at The Solutions Team is the variety within his responsibilities. Despite having the same core tasks, the rotating work assignments keep his days engaging. He also appreciates the supportive team, the opportunity to grow in a new career path, and the camaraderie fostered by an internal projects team. Additionally, the company's team-building outings provide enjoyable opportunities for connection and relaxation.
Mike's achievements since joining The Solutions Team are truly remarkable. Despite not having a background in project management, he embraced the role and made significant strides. He has contributed to the successful closure of 58 projects, with an additional 30 currently in progress. Mike redesigned our project templates, improved project documentation methods, created and actively updates a comprehensive global Standard Operating Procedures document, and reorganized our inventory and inventory records. Furthermore, he has confidently led multiple meetings and tackled various administrative tasks, showcasing his adaptability and willingness to take on new challenges.
